I watched a sunrise this morning
It was so beautiful, i wished you could’ve seen it
The sky turned orange and yellow and purple
as the day fought it’s way into the night.

and i was turned into stone
I lived in the night all my days
and the night is all I know
I pray for you in all my ways
But into the night you’ll never go

So I waited for your day
I wanted to see what you see
So I waited and prayed
I knew the sun would kill me soon
But I’d rather see the world one last time
Than see another moon.

I hoped that maybe i could see you
